Clay Aiken, the American singer, songwriter, actor, producer, and author who began his rise to fame on the second season of a television program American Idol in 2003, has listed his mansion outside Raleigh, NC on the market for $2,700,000.

According to the listing, the 9,392 square feet home in the semi-rural community of Cary has a total of 6 bedrooms and 6 full and 3 half bathrooms.

The mansion has a gated driveway that curves up to a circular motor court with a circular fountain and a marble foyer and a curved staircase with built-in bookshelves that flank the first of its four fireplaces, according to the Real Estalker.

There is a grand double-height living room, built in shelves, a towering wall of windows, and French doors.

Interior amenities include a large kitchen with professional-grade appliances, a home theater with tiered seating, a 1950s game room in the basement with black and white checkered floor, a wet bar/kitchen with cherry red cabinets, and black granite counter tops.

The house comes with a parking lot and three-car attached garage. On the back side, the main level opens up a deck, screen porch, and the lower level to a large stone terrace that overlooks Aiken's private pond with fountain, reports the blog.

In May 2000, Aiken paid $67,500 for a 4 bedroom condo in Charlotte, NC where he was going to college. He sold the unit to a married couple on April 30 for $71,000.

In September 2003, he bought a 7,786 square foot house on a 1.3 acre estate for $2,300,000 in Los Angeles, CA. He sold the 6 bedroom and 7 bathroom pad, which includes a long gated drive, swimming pool and tennis court, for $2,375,000 in September 2005.

In April 2006, Aiken has paid $2,361,000 to acquire this larger and newly constructed mansion situated on 6.98 acres.
