If you saw a movie within the last year it most likely featured an Apple product.

Apple beat out every other brand for the 2010 Award for Overall Product Placement, reports Apple Insider.

According to Brandcameo, 30 percent of last year's top movies featured some kind of Apple product, whether it was a MacBook, iPod or an iPhone.

Second place was tied among Nike, Chevrolet and Ford for placement in 24 percent of movies in 2010.

Product placement is nothing new for Apple since its products have made cameos in 112 of the top 334 most popular movies in America since 2001.

Apple places products in many television shows as well. Famously, Jerry Seinfeld had a Macintosh in the background scenes of Seinfeld. Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City also notably wrote her columns on a Mac.

Despite Apple's award for 2010, BrandChannel noted that Apple product placements have gone down in the last two years since other brands are upping their strategies and adopting similar tactics used by Apple. Today more films use more products with HP, Dell and Sony Vaio logos. Any movie by Sony Pictures will not feature any Apple logos. Instead, they are being substituted with Sony Vaio products.

Bradchannel also reported that the movie with the most product placements was Iron Man 2, which featured 64 identifiable products.
