Donald Trump “is a racist, I’m calling it, it’s official,” said liberal talk radio show host Cenk Uygur on The Young Turks.

“I don’t know why I was so hesitant in the first place,” said Uygur, “it’s dripping from him now…obviously this has to do with race.”

Uygur is referring to Trump’s latest comments that accuse Obama of not being a good enough student to have attended Columbia and Harvard.

Trump said: “I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard? I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard. We don't know a thing about this guy. There are a lot of questions that are unanswered about our president.”

Uygur said the combination of Trump’s focus on the ‘birther’ issue and now the assumption that Obama wasn’t qualified to attend Harvard proves that Trump’s attacks are racially motivated.

He said the only reason Trump would bring up the Harvard issue is the assumption that black people can’t get into prestigious universities based on their academic merit; instead, they are only accepted because of affirmative action or other considerations.

Back in 2008, some liberals also accused George W. Bush getting into Yale only because of legacy considerations.
