The Alexander McQueen show has set record breaking numbers for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, causing the Met to extend the show and open its doors on Monday for paying guests. Since May 4, more than 150,000 people have attended the exhibit.
The Met, which is usually closed on Mondays, will allow patrons to visit the exhibit if they are willing to pay the price of $50. Typically, the museum is donation based, with a suggestion donation of $20 for admission.
The exhibit will now run through August 7, and tickets for Monday viewings will go on sale July 4, one month after the show's opening.
In the past couple decades, the only other exhibit to create a Monday viewing, at raised admission price, was for the "Manet/Velázquez: The French Taste for Spanish Painting" and "El Greco" in 2003 and 2004.
