Apple unveiled its cloud-based service iCloud at WWDC 2011 that automatically and wirelessly store users content in iCloud and automatically and wirelessly push it to all Apple devices. The iCloud is expected to help iPhone 5 beat Google Android and Google's cloud-based Music Beta.
However, on last Thursday, Apple was sued over allegedly infringing on trademark by a computer communications company iCloud Communications.
The iCloud Communications, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, provides local and long distance telephone service.
The iCloud Communications alleged that Apple's online storage service iCloud infringed the company's name and caused the company's products cold:
"The goods and services with which Apple intends to use the 'iCloud' mark are identical to or closely related to the goods and services that have been offered by iCloud Communications under the iCloud Marks since its formation in 2005. However, due to the worldwide media coverage given to and generated by Apple's announcement of its 'iCloud' services and the ensuing saturation advertising campaign pursued by Apple, the media and the general public have quickly come to associate the mark 'iCloud' with Apple, rather than iCloud Communications."

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court of Arizona and demanded Apple to stop using the iCloud name and a unspecified monetary compensation.
But Apple did not immediately respond to the lawsuit.
Apple's iCloud supports up to 10 devices for free, including the former MobileMe (services-Contacts, Calendar and Mail), the App Store and iBookstore, iCloud Backup, iCloud Storage, Photo Stream, iTunes.
The iCloud includes 5GB of free cloud storage for Mail, Document Storage and Backup. Purchased music, apps, books and Photo Stream do not count against the storage limit. iTunes Match will be available for $24.99 per year.
The former MobileMe services all completely re-architected and rewritten to work seamlessly with iCloud. Users can share calendars with friends and family. The iCloud Backup automatically and securely backs up iOS devices to iCloud daily over Wi-Fi when users charge iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The App Store and iBookstore now download purchased iOS apps and books to all devices, not just the device they were purchased on. The iCloud Storage seamlessly stores all documents created using iCloud Storage APIs, and automatically pushes them to all users' devices.
The iCloud's Photo Stream service automatically uploads the photos people take or import on any of devices and wirelessly pushes them to all users' devices and computers.
The iTunes in the Cloud lets users download previously purchased iTunes music to all iOS devices at no additional cost, and new music purchases can be downloaded automatically to all devices. The iTunes Match is a service that replaces music with a 256 kbps AAC DRM-free version if people can match it to the over 18 million songs in the iTunes Store.
Apple's iCloud, unveiled along with Mac iOS X Lion and iOS 5, had caused disappointment of many Apple fans as as many had expected the company to reveal its next generation iPhone, iPhone 5.
