Getting painted on canvas is quite a royal act. Britain’s royal family possesses many of their portraits done in the form of paintings, dating back to an era when still photography was not discovered.

Right from Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Princess Diana to the latest heartthrob from the royals, William and Kate, have all been subjects of painters from across the world.

While Buckingham Palace has displayed only a few of its priceless treasures in the past, we have put across some rare paintings of UK’s royal family below:

Princess Diana
