Though Britain’s Catherine (Kate Middleton), Duchess of Cambridge, sported an outfit of the colors of Canada’s national flag, she opted for a glamorous purple dress for the evening celebrations of Canada Day on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on July 1, 2011.

Kate, who is on a royal tour of Canada from June 30 to July 8 along with her husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, wore a V-neck Issa Jersey dress, which she teamed with a pair of black nude stilettos.

Her hair pulled loosely into a bun behind her neck complemented her attire.

Kate gracefully embraced national emblem of Canada in the form of a diamond maple leaf brooch, which she wore on her dress. The same brooch was worn by Queen Elizabeth in 1951 when she visited Canada as a Princess.
