Catherine Kieu Becker, seen in a police mugshot taken July 11, 2011, has been arrested and charged with the crimes of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit felony, poisoning, and spousal abuse after police responded to a home in Garden Grove, California and said that they found her husband tied to a bed and bleeding from his groin area. Police said in a news release issued July 12, 2011 that Becker had used an unknown type of poison and/or drug in her husband's food to make him sleepy, then tied him to a bed and as he awoke cut off his penis with a knife. A California woman learned the hard that cutting husband's penis off with a kitchen knife will get you charged with torture. The Orange County District Attorney's Office said in a written statement that Kieu tied her sleeping husband to a bed with nylon ropes and sliced off his penis.

The 48-year-old woman then proceeded to the kitchen, where she threw it into a garbage disposal and turned it on, said Orange County prosecutors. Strangely, the woman then called 911 and was taken into custody Monday night, where she was charged with one count of torture and one count of aggravated mayhem.

Kieu is being held without bail and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Orange County prosecutors said that an argument between Kieu and her 60-year-old prompted the woman to commit the objectively unwarranted crime. The victim was not identified by authorities. Police added that she may have drugged her husband.

Kieu's husband was taken to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery and was listed in serious condition.
