Pop-Singer Lady gaga called the cops after her website was hacked, and thousands of names and email addresses were stolen. Gaga's Britain website was hacked by US attackers Swagsec, prompting her record label Universal to take urgent action on the matter, a Mirror report said.
The cyber attack took place on June 27. But the attackers did not make it public until recently this week. The attackers also called the singer Homophobic and issued a death threat to her.
"She's upset and hopes police get to the bottom of how this was allowed to happen."
"The hackers took a content database www.ladygaga.co.uk and a section of email, first name and the last name records were accessed. There were no passwords or financial information taken. We take this very seriously and have put in place additional measures to protect personally identifiable information. All those affected have been advised," the report quoted sources as saying.
Justin Bieber and Amy Winehouse are the other Universal artists who have been earlier targeted by Swagsec.
