'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Premieres in Hollywood [PHOTOS]

James Franco, along with the other cast members of "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", arrived at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for the movie's premiere.

The summer's most-awaited movie, "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes", premiered Thursday at Grauman's theatre and cast members arrived to greet fans and photographers who gathered to celebrate the event. The movie tells the story of a scientist and his experiments that lead to the development of the apes' intelligence.

James Franco was the star of the affair, donning huge grins and had Frieda Pinto at his side. The "Slumdog Millionaire" actress wore a green frock and looked dazzling with her caramel skin and red lips. Tom Felton, who's famous for his role in the Harry Potter movies, also arrived, this time with Rupert Grint who wore a shirt saying "I love Tom Felton".

Other cast members include Andy Serkis who plays one of the lead apes in the film. Co-star Franco dished on Serkis' performance during the movie's filming. "On set, Andy would be dressed in an outfit that looked like gray pajamas, with a ton of wires around him and a small camera at the end of a wire armature pointed at his face to capture his expressions. He looked nothing like a chimpanzee, but he was so good at capturing the behavior of a chimpanzee that I guess my actor's imagination took over. It was like acting with a chimpanzee who has amazing acting instincts" says Franco in a post by Hollywood-Treatment.com.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens on Aug. 4 in Australia.
