August 3, 2011 11:30 AM EDT

A major U.S. health organization is offering classes on cancer, reports the Web site MyCentralJersey.com.

"I Can Cope" is a free education program of the American Cancer Society. It is for adults who are affected by cancer- patients, caregivers, family members and friends. The classes promise to give honest and straightforward answers to cancer questions.

Participants do not need a doctor's referral, although pre-registration may be required, depending on the location.

The classes address various issues related to cancer, including self-esteem and intimacy, financial concerns, and community resources.

Classes are available in some communities nationally, according to the ACS website.  To find out if there is one in your area, call 1-800-227-2345. To find out more, click here.
