The search is underway for the body of a Senath toddler who went missing and was killed on Aug. 6.

Dunklin County sheriff Bob Holder said that nearly 50 searchers, two helicopters, search dogs, and boats are looking for the body of 3-year old Breeann Rodriguez, the Daily Dunklin Democrat reported.

"We're dragging the ditches, have helicopters and dogs out there searching," Holder told ABCNews.com. "We're making every effort to find her."

They are looking in the drainage ditch area east of the rural farming community of Hornersville, the Democrat reported.

"There's a series of five ditches down there," Holder told ABCNews.com. "We're in the process of checking all of them."

The murder suspect is in custody.

Shawn Morgan, 43, was arrested on Aug. 13 and confessed to killing the child in an affidavit.

He said he found her standing on his pool ladder on Aug. 6, the day she was reported missing. He said he took her inside his house and suffocated her with a garbage bag until she died.

According to the affidavit, Morgan said it "felt like it took an hour for the girl to die."

He said he then put her body in the same garbage bag and dumped it over a railing of floodway ditches at Highway 164.

He has been charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with evidence.

Morgan is being held without bond, the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reported.
