House of Fraser latest same stores sales up 3.3 pct

Department store chain House of Fraser, subject to a bid from Iceland's Baugur, said on Wednesday same store sales in the first eight weeks of the second half rose 3.3 percent.

House of Fraser also said in the statement its like for like sales in the first half of the year fell by 2.5 percent. Total sales in the six month period rose 7.6 percent on a year ago.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and exceptional items rose 9.3 percent to 10.6 million pounds.
