The company said its “Lavie G Hello Kitty model” will sell for 199,500 yen ($1,680). The new laptop can be ordered through NEC’s online shop, with customers receiving the new unit by June 19.

The laptop is targeted to young and middle-aged women who love the character. It is rose-pink and showcases the Hello Kitty face at the center of the back panel, surrounded by four decorations in the shape of a heart. It looks so much like a jewelry box, that Japanese jewelry fans are also included in its sales target.

The laptop uses a mobile AMD 3400+ Sempron processor and runs Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium.
