Amgen shares rise after results

NEW YORK - Shares of Amgen Inc. rose 1.4 percent to $56.93 in extended trade on Thursday after the biotechnology company's adjusted earnings per share surpassed Wall Street estimates.

The stock closed at $56.16 on Nasdaq.
