Energizer Holdings Inc.'s $1.16 billion takeover of Playtex Products Inc. has won approval from U.S. antitrust authorities, the Federal Trade Commission said on Monday.

Officials wrapped up an investigation of the deal without taking any action to block it, the FTC said in a statement.

Energizer, which makes batteries and Schick razors, said in July that it would pay $18.30 per share for Playtex, which makes sunscreen products like Hawaiian Tropic, tampons and baby-care products.
