Simpson denies any wrongdoing, saying the artifacts including his Hall of Fame certificate and a video from his first wedding were rightfully his and were stolen out of his possession. He also maintains that no guns were used in the confrontation. While police are still trying to determine ownership of the paraphernalia, they frown upon the aggressive method by which the goods were taken. A police lieutenant told Associated Press reporters "Whether or not the property belonged to Mr. Simpson or not is still in debate ... having said that, the manner in which the property was taken, we have a responsibility to look into that."

Sunday afternoon, Simpson was booked at the county jail on 2 counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit a crime and burglary with a firearm. If convicted of the booking charges, the infamous Heisman winner would face up to 30 years in state prison for each robbery count alone (Simpson is currently 60 years old). A judge ordered that Simpson be held without bail a court date has been set for Thursday.

Meanwhile, Simpson's "fictional" tale of the murder of his ex-wife and her friend - If I Did It - hit shelves last week. Widely panned as tasteless, the book hit the number-1 sales rank spots on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble . The family of Ronald Goldman, killed alongside Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994, owns the rights to the book and will bank all profits.
