NEW YORK (AP) - Jay Schottenstein, chairman of American Eagle Outfitters Inc., on Friday reported owning a 14.3 percent stake in shoe retailer DSW Inc., lifting shares more than 10 percent.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Schottenstein owns about 2.7 million shares, or a 14.3 percent stake, in the Columbus, Ohio-based company.
Schottenstein said he may from time to time discuss his holdings and possible business transactions with the company or third parties.
DSW shares jumped $1.86, or 10.9 percent, to close at $19.01. Shares have traded between $17.15 and $44.71 in the past 12 months. Shares fell 89 cents, or 4.7 percent, to $18.12 in aftermarket trading.
