The new fund will invest in large capitalization stocks with prospects for sustainable growth, and use the Russell 1000 Growth Index as its primary benchmark. Federated Investors already offers two Federated Kaufmann funds that invest in small- and midcap stocks.

The fund is managed by Lawrence Auriana and Hans Utsch. Both Auriana and Utsch have signed new deals with Federated Investors to manage the Federated Kaufmann funds through 2014.

Federated Investors managed about $276 billion in assets as of Sept. 30.
