NEW YORK - The chairman and chief executive of PepsiAmericas Inc. reported raising his stake in the soft drink bottler to 9.9 percent in an amended filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.

Robert C. Pohlad beneficially owns 12.9 million shares, or a 9.9 percent stake in the Minneapolis-based company.
Earlier this week, Pohlad reported owning 12.7 million shares, or a 9.8 percent stake.
The amendment was filed to report Starquest Securities LLC's purchase of 200,000 shares on Wednesday. Pohlad is the vice president of Starquest. The purchase signifies the completion of Starquest's previously announced plan to acquire up to $10 million of PepsiAmericas shares.
Shares rose 12 cents to $25.49 in afternoon trading.
