Tokyo Game Show 2008 Dates Unveiled

TOKYO - Tokyo-Japan Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) announced Friday that Tokyo Game Show 2008 would be held from October 9 to 12. This year's slogan for the show is "Let's go! Now is the time of GAME."

Yoichi Wada, Chairman of CESA and works for Square Enix, lauded the previous year's Tokyo Game Show which broke a attendance records of visitors, exhibitors and booths.

"Tokyo Game Show is the world's one of the largest Game Shows and established the position of 'catalyzer' to develop Game industry." Wada said.

The chairman expects that this year's show will include exhibits of prototypes for the first time. So far, only completed products have been exhibited in the Game Show.

CESA aims to reach more than 18,000 visitors, 170 exhibit companies and 1,550 booths on the Tokyo Game Show 2008. As for last year, the number of visitors, exhibit companies and booths reached 193,040, 217 and 1,735 for each.

The game show is comparable in the size of Tokyo Motor Show, shows representing the strengths of Japanese industry.
