Spartan will supply and integrate chassis components for BAE's RG33 Category I and II vehicles. The vehicles are scheduled to be completed during the first three quarters of 2008 and will be used by the U.S. military, the company said.

MRAPs feature V-shaped hulls, raised chassis and armor that help protect soldiers from improvised explosive devices, mines and other hazards of war.

Spartan shares rose 55 cents, or 6.5 percent, to $9.01 in midday trading.
