CHICAGO (AP) - Huron Consulting Group Inc. said Wednesday fourth-quarter earnings rose 43 percent due to rapid growth in health and education consulting.

Net income rose to $11.5 million, or 63 cents per share, from $8 million, or 46 cents per share, during the same period the previous year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial, on average, forecast earnings of 63 cents per share for the quarter on revenue of $136.4 million.
Revenue increased 63 percent to $136 million.
Operating income from Huron Consulting Group's health and education consulting division more than tripled to $21.3 million from $7.1 million during the final quarter in 2006.
Financial consulting increased 24 percent to $17.8 million from $14.4 million. Only corporate consulting declined, falling 40 percent to $2.8 million.
The average number of full-time billable consultants increased 54 percent to 1,199 in the fourth quarter of 2007 compared to 777 in the same quarter last year.
For the full year, earnings rose to $41.9 million, or $2.32 per share, from $26.7 million, or $1.54 per share, in 2006. Revenue climbed to $504.3 million from $288.6 million.
