According to an analysis of the Teradata's first such filing as a standalone company, Michael Koehler was granted a salary of $538,288 and a performance-based bonus of $451,502.

He received all other compensation of $39,046, including $12,000 for financial planning services, $10,867 for retirement plan contributions and $9,700 for legal fees related to his offer letter. He also received up to $5,000 for medical diagnostic services and $1,479 for life insurance.

In addition, he received stock and option awards the company valued at $5.5 million on the day they were granted.

The AP's total pay calculations include executives' salary, bonus, incentives, perks, above-market returns on deferred compensation and the estimated value of stock options and awards granted during the year. The calculations don't include changes in the present value of pension benefits, and they sometimes differ from the totals companies list in the summary compensation table of proxy statements filed with the SEC.

NCR Corp., which makes automatic teller machines and other products, spun off Teradata into an independent company in October. Teradata makes software that allows users to store and analyze massive amounts of data.

Teradata listed Koehler's base salary as $500,000 before the spinoff and $700,000 after the spinoff. It also boosted the amount by which he was eligible for performance incentives.

In 2007, Teradata reported net income of $200 million, or $1.10 a share, and revenue of $1.7 billion.
