Budget airline Ryanair reported an increase in passenger numbers of 20 per cent in February 2008, compared with the same time last year. The Ireland-based airline said that passenger numbers in February were up to 3.84 million.

Ryanair attributed its higher passenger numbers to the increase in the number of routes that it now flies.

Despite the rise in passenger numbers, load factor (number of bought seats as a percentage of available seats) was down two per cent to 75 per cent.
