JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Knight Capital Group Inc.'s average daily trading volume 36 percent in February as market volatility led to an increase in activity versus a year ago.

The average share volume slipped 17 percent while total dollar value jumped 57 percent, the company reported Friday.
"The continuing negative performance of the major equity market indexes and a still blurry economic outlook contributed to subdued broad stock market volumes in February," Chief Executive Thomas Joyce said in a statement.
