Nymex Feb. Trading Volume Up 20 Percent

NEW YORK (AP) - Nymex Holdings Inc., which operates the New York Mercantile Exchange, said Friday average daily trading volume in February rose 20 percent to 1.85 million contracts.

NYMEX electronic volume on the CEM Globex electronic trading platform added 30 percent to 783,212 contracts per day on average. The company estimated the gross average rate per contract was $1.58, up from $1.51 a year ago.

The New York Merc is the world's largest physical exchange for options and futures contracts on commodities.
