JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. - Shipping company American Commercial Lines Inc. said Wednesday it named Thomas R. Pilholski as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Most recently, Pilholski served as chief executive for S3I LLC, a late-stage development company for sensor technology.

Shares rose 29 cents to $15.97 in afternoon trading.
