Lumera Wins $2.2M Air Force Contract

BOTHELL, Wash. - Nanotechnology company Lumera Corp. said Thursday it received a U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory contract to make satellite and radar components.

The contract is worth $2.2 million.

The components, which are made of synthetic materials known as polymers, are known as low driving voltage, electro-optic modulators and are used to boost the capacity of radar- and satellite-based communications networks.

Shares rose 7 cents, or 3.7 percent, to $1.98 in late morning trading.
