NEW YORK - Machinery stocks closed up Tuesday, as the bulk of the market paused after a huge two-session rally, but still managed to hold on to almost all its gains even after disappointing reports on consumer sentiment and the housing market.
Here's how some machinery stocks finished the session:
Terex Corp., up $2.41, or 3.9 percent, at $65.01.
Paccar Inc., down 16 cents at $46.97.
Cummins Inc., up 98 cents at $52.07.
Caterpillar Inc., up 61 cents at $76.64.
Deere & Co., up 79 cents at $82.24.
