WiMax provides faster wireless Web connection speeds for laptops and cell phones. The companies did not release financial terms of the agreement.
KeyOn will use Airspan's WiMax technology to cover 13,000 households in Pahrump, Nev. The company will provide the technology over the 3.65 gigahertz band of the spectrum.
Once that project is complete, KeyOn plans to market the service to other customers. It currently offers wireless data, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and satellite-video services. KeyOn plans to explore the integration of voice and data services through VoIP over the 3.65 GHz band as well.

Eritrea is considering five more applications for exploration licences, and will make its decision within the year.
