SAN FRANCISCO - Williams-Sonoma Inc. said Thursday its fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 3 percent, helped by an extra week in the period.

The home-furnishings retailer reported net income climbed to $124.6 million, or $1.15 per share, from $121.1 million, or $1.06 per share, a year earlier.
Analysts expected a profit of $1.12 per share, according to a Thomson Financial poll.
Revenue for the period ended Feb. 3 grew 9 percent to $1.37 billion from $1.25 billion to meet Wall Street's expectations.
Retail revenue gained 8 percent to $846.6 million.
For the year, earnings fell 6 percent to $195.8 million, or $1.76 per share, from $208.9 million, or $1.79 per share, in the prior year.
Full-year sales increased to $3.94 billion, up 6 percent from $3.73 billion.
