WASHINGTON - Healthcare service provider Kindred Healthcare spent more than $1 million lobbying the federal government last year.

The group lobbied the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services on payments to hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers.
Kindred operates hospitals, rehabilitation centers and imaging centers.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company also lobbied Congress, the Health and Human Services Department and the Office of Management & Budget.
Lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches, under a federal law enacted in 1995.
