Raytheon Wins $60.2M Army Contract

WASHINGTON - Raytheon Co. won a $60.2 million contract to supply battlefield surveillance systems to the Army, the Defense Department said late Thursday.

The company will provide 75 Rapid Aerosate Initial Deployment, or RAID, tower systems and modification kits. Raytheon's RAID system uses electro optical/infrared sensors, radars and flash and acoustic detectors to conduct persistent battlefield surveillance.

Shares of Raytheon, based in Waltham, Mass., were up $1.30 at $65.17 Friday.
