LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday morning. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.5729, up from $1.5721 late Tuesday in New York.

_1.0156 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0126
The British pound was quoted at $1.9697, up from $1.9690.
Gold traded in London at $906.75 per troy ounce, down from $909.80 late Tuesday.
In Zurich, gold traded at $905.75 bid per troy ounce, down from $910.05.
Silver opened in London at $17.63, up from $17.57.
