CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Capstone Turbine Corp. said Thursday it has received a $2 million order for its biogas microturbine systems from Samsung C&T Corp., expanding its business in Asia.

Capstone's microturbine systems create energy with lower greenhouse-gas emissions than traditional products.
Capstone Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jim Crouse said the contract with Samsung, a South Korean electronics company, "builds further momentum in Asia." Chief Executive Darren Jamison called South Korea one of the "most technologically and scientifically advanced nations" with a growing economy.
Capstone shares rose 5 cents, or 2 percent, to $2.51 in morning trading.
