NEW YORK - Shares of gold mining companies fell Thursday as the price of the precious metal declined in U.S. trading.
Gold for June delivery fell $5.70 to settle at $931.80 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after earlier falling as low as $925 an ounce.
Here is how some gold mining companies fared:
Goldcorp Inc. fell 9 cents to $40.54
Barrick Gold Corp. slipped 9 cents to $44.02
Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd. slid 14 cents to $11.25
Kinross Gold Corp. lost 6 cents to $23.48.
