According to a Thomson Financial survey, on average six analysts forecast quarterly revenue of $51.7 million, with estimates ranging between $50 million and $56.1 million.

Revenue in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007 was $40.1 million.

Zoltek said it was preannouncing results due to volatility in its stock. Shares of the company ended the regular session down $2.66, or 10 percent, to $22.79. The stock added 6 cents in after-hours trading.

"We are pleased with our results in the March 2008 quarter, which reflect a return to more normalized customer order patterns for carbon fibers and technical fibers and production from new carbon fiber lines at our Hungarian facility started up since the beginning of the current fiscal year," Zsolt Rumy, Zoltek's chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.

The company expects to report results by the middle of May.
