US dollar mixed against major currencies

LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was mixed against major currencies in European trading Thursday morning. Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.5959, up from $1.5954 late Wednesday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_102.08 Japanese yen, up from 102.04

_1.0003 Swiss francs, up from 0.9995

_1.0021 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0018

The British pound was quoted at $1.9776, up from $1.9708.

Gold traded in London at $951.00 per troy ounce, up from $947.80 late Wednesday.

In Zurich, gold traded at $948.80 bid per troy ounce, up from $945.00.

Silver opened in London at $18.41, unchanged.
