The closure of the facility will result in the elimination of 110 jobs and is the third plant closing it has announced this year. The plant will shift production to other operations.

"Affected Team Members will continue to receive pay and benefits through June 17 and production at the plant will end on or before June 17. The workers will be given the opportunity to transfer to other Tyson locations and, in some cases, will be offered cash incentives," said the company in a statement.

The York plant produces uncooked meats, such as Shaved Steak brand and flat iron steak along with other sliced beef and pork items for retail and food- service customers.

Tyson, along with other food companies, has been suffering from soaring grain costs this year.

Tyson's shares were at $18.99, down 3 cents, in after-hours trading.
