NEW YORK - A Cowen analyst expects limited success for Pozen and GlaxoSmithKline's migraine drug Treximet due to generic competition and reimbursement questions.
Treximet combines Glaxo's drug Imitrex with an anti-inflammation treatment. The Food and Drug Administration approved Treximet Wednesday. But analyst Steve Scala said generic versions of Imitrex will reach the market in November, reducing Treximet sales.
Although Scala said Treximet is more effective and convenient than its competitors, health insurers may not reimburse patients for the drug.
Also on Monday, Broadpoint analyst David Lickrish downgraded the Chapel Hill, N.C., company's stock to "Underperform" from "Neutral."
