NEW YORK - Shares of diversified financial services companies traded mostly lower Wednesday morning as worries about inflation and corporate earnings continued to weigh on stocks, despite the announcement of a deal for Liberty Mutual Group to acquire Safeco.
The $6.12 billion deal would create the country's fifth-biggest property insurer.
Here's how some diversified financial companies were performing Wednesday morning:
JPMorgan Chase & Co., down 4 cents to $45.61.
Citigroup, down 2 cents to $25.10.
Bank of America Corp., up 2 cents to $37.02.
CIT Group Inc., down 21 cents, or 2 percent, to $10.54.
