The company expects full-year earnings per share in a range of $3.70 to $3.90. Last year it earned $2.59 per share.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect, on average, full-year 2008 earnings per share of $3.86.

The company also said it expects full-year 2008 revenue to be 4 percent to 6 percent over last year's $2.41 billion. That implies current year revenue of $2.51 billion to $2.55 billion.

"Our plan for the full year 2008 is based on a slowing U.S. economy," Chief Executive Timothy H. Powers. The company expects modest strength in its largest business segment, nonresidential construction, and an expanding utility market. It is also anticipating continuing decline in the residential market.
