Late Thursday, Santa Clara, Calif.-based McAfee Inc. reported adjusted profit of 43 cents per share, narrowly missing analyst estimates.
The stock fell $1.41, or 4 percent, to close at $34.22 on heavy volume.
However, McAfee also projected second-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates, and UBS analyst Heather Bellini remained largely upbeat.
In a research report, she noted that McAfee's corporate segment was the key earnings driver in the previous quarter, but in the first quarter, both the corporate and consumer segments performed well.
