NEW YORK - A federal appeals court has reinstated a lawsuit brought by credit card holders against some of the nation's biggest banks.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan made its ruling on Friday.
The card holders say the banks joined forces to make it harder for individuals to make legal claims against them by requiring arbitration. Their suit was filed in 2005.
Among those being sued are Bank of America, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc.
A message for comment left with a lawyer for the banks was not immediately returned.
