CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Auto retailer Sonic Automotive Inc. said Tuesday its board approved a quarterly cash dividend of 12 cents per share.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based company said the dividend will be paid on July 15 to shareholders of record as of June 15.
