NEW YORK - Solar cell maker Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. said Friday it signed a contract to sell photovoltaic modules to Japan's Eiko Trading Corp. for use in Germany.

Yingli, which is based in Baoding, China, will deliver 17.35 megawatts of the modules by November.
A one-megawatt plant running continuously at full capacity can power 778 households each year, according to the Department of Energy.
Yingli shares rose 84 cents, or 4 percent, to $21.97 in premarket trading. they closed at $21.13 on Thursday.
