P&G sues J&J over teeth-whitening patents

Procter & Gamble Co. sued Johnson & Johnson over a pair of patents for teeth-whitening products.

The suit alleges that J&J, along with its McNeil PPC unit, violated patents for the active ingredient in the teeth product as well as the system which uses a strip placed on the teeth to whiten them.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (Madison).

P&G is asking the court to stop J&J from selling its strips since it is almost the same.
