NEW YORK - The vice chairman and chief financial officer of specialty glass and ceramics maker Corning Inc. exercised options for 115,000 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, James B. Flaws reported he exercised options for the shares Thursday for $12.70 apiece and then sold 143,100 shares on the same day for $26.53 to $26.79 each.
Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.
