The company said the new collection is being designed by Michael Bastian, the creative director for Bill Blass Menswear.

NexCen said Peerless will produce men's tailored clothing, including suits, sports coats, trousers, overcoats, raincoats and tuxedoes. The collection will be sold to luxury specialty stores in North America and select international accounts, the company said.

NexCen said the initial term of the licensing agreement is from April through the end of 2013, with an option for another five years. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

NexCen bought Bill Blass Holding Co. in February of last year for $54.6 million in cash and stock.
